Having looked at my website Canary Wharf Group approached me to take some artistic photographs of the Canary Wharf area for internal publication, with the brief being ‘creative/abstract, but with at least one identifiable aspect of Canary Wharf visible’

I was given full access to all areas of Canary Wharf for a two month period, before which I had carefully planned the type of shots to get, and the conditions that they would look best. I used various techniques from camera movement, creating a ‘Hockney-esque’ collage and using very slow shutter speeds.

Over the assignment period I managed to get over 35 shots, which I considered to be a pretty good haul. Living locally to Canary Wharf certainly helped!

I have shared my four favourite shots here. Canary Wharf Group also kindly purchased the copyright to these images, so I am afraid none of the images are for sale.

“Mike – You have truly stunned me with your talents. No wonder you come highly recommended! I am so over the moon with the images it’s untrue. Thank you so much for you and your assistants hard work!” Jonny Smith – Fifth Gear
