Print Information - Mounting
Limited Edition Prints
All our prints are Lambda C-Type Prints. They are quite simply photographic technology taken to a state of perfection. Lambda C-Type printing gives true continuous tone, ultra sharp photographic images with crisp and precise edge to edge printing and absolutely no distortion.
This technology has taken over from the traditional photographic process and uses three lasers merged into a single beam to expose images on to photosensitive materials up to 1270 mm (50 inches) in width, producing the whole image in a single pass. The photosensitive material is then internally "wet" processed in the same manner as traditional photography.
Our prints are normally produced on Fuji Crystal Archive paper. Because it is real photo paper, prints have the tactile look and feel of a traditional photograph but with all the benefits of digital control. Lambda C-Type Prints are also ideally suited to large format imaging and high-impact colour graphic prints for exhibitions, displays or any circumstance where the finest quality photographic images are required. Our Lambda C-Type Prints set the benchmark for image quality and are unsurpassed by any other photographic printing technology.
Each print comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity and its edition number, which should be safely stored somewhere. The Certificate of Authenticity is your proof that this is a genuine Mike Curry Photography image, checked and approved by us.
Canvas Mounting
Printing photographic images on to canvas is a great way to display your images and extremely popular in the photography market. It has the added effect of engaging the observer and making them question whether it is really a photograph or a painting they are viewing.
Your canvas photo is stretched over a custom made, solid wood frame without a wedge, so there is no fitting and retightening. The image is mirrored on the edge - so no distracting white edges.
The wooden frame for your canvas is notable for its stability and high quality. The wood for the supporting frames is sourced from sustainable forests. The warp resistant frames are strengthened three times in each corner with metal struts and, for large formats, are also supported by inner frames.
Aluminium Mounting
Your picture will be fixed to the solid aluminium backing using a special adhesive, which seals the print to the surface evenly. All edges will be cut and smoothed with precision using a CNC cutter. For maximum stability and warp resistance, the board consists of 3 layers - brand quality from Germany. To protect against sunlight your picture will be laminated with a UV protective film. This coating is available in matte or glossy - guaranteed to be free from bubbles, cracks, and specks. Our recommended UV coating is glossy unless you specify matt.
Acrylic Glass Mounting
Acrylic Glass Mounting is the process of mounting a photographic print between a sheet of Acrylic and an Aluminium or PVC (depending on availability - default choice PVC) backing sheet. In this way the image is not only protected against dirt, scratching and premature aging but it can also achieve a floating, three dimensional quality unobtainable by any other process.
Acrylic Face Mounting provides a brilliance, intensity and saturation of image that has to be seen to be believed
